Chinese New Year is here again!
And what better way to celebrate the New Year than with scrumptious New Year delicacies?
Singaporeans love indulging in caloric-filled treats at this time of the year, chugging in anything and everything to fill their mouths as we take part in awkward conversations with relatives that we only meet once a year.
One of my personal favourites is Pineapple Tarts. I remember that when I was around 8, my aunties would come over and spend a whole day making pineapple tarts. The whole house would smell of freshly baked buttery pastry and sweet pineapple jam.
It’s been a really long time since they’ve come over to do so, due to busy schedules. However, my aunt took some time off to teach me how to perfect that pastry. Like in the post on Red Velvet Cupcakes, I teamed up with The Meatmen to create another cool CNY recipe video on pineapple tarts.
Do have a watch and hopefully you like the taste of the pastry as much as I do 🙂

P.S. I did make the jam by hand once. I’d advice you to only do that if you want to spend hours grating the pineapple. Of course, needless to say, nothing is quite the same as starting from scratch.
